In a traditional regular class, students interact more with teachers than in an online classroom. Make sure that you have an environment that feels like a regular classroom. Have activities such as meditation or reading text from a textbook and discussing it with the students. If only you did the talking, students would lose interest and will start leaving the online class. Have interactive question and answer sessions that students may want to join or keep a few bonus points for the sessions of your online class in which the students will indeed interact. Do not let your class be silent for more than three minutes.
